The short version

Your JSON and XML documents are processed inside your own browser and are never uploaded to us. We do not run analytics, advertising or tracking scripts, and we do not set cookies. The only data stored on your device is two small preferences described below.

Documents you paste or open

Formatting, validation and minifying all run as JavaScript in your browser. The content you paste, type or open from your device is never transmitted to a server. It is not stored, logged or retained by us in any form, because it never reaches us.

You can confirm this yourself: open your browser's developer tools, switch to the network panel, and use the tools. No request carries your document.

What is stored on your device

The site uses your browser's localStorage — not cookies — to remember two preferences so the tools behave consistently between visits:

  • theme — whether you chose the light or dark theme. If you make no choice, nothing is stored and your operating system preference is used.
  • indent-preference — the indentation you selected: 1, 2, 4 or 8 spaces, or tabs.

Neither value is transmitted anywhere, and both stay on the device you are using. You can clear them at any time by clearing site data in your browser settings.

No analytics, advertising or cookies

This site does not use analytics services, advertising networks, social media pixels, cross-site trackers, fingerprinting scripts or cookies. There is nothing to consent to and nothing to opt out of.

Server logs

To deliver the site, a hosting provider serves static files in response to your requests. Like all web servers, that provider may keep standard access logs containing technical request data such as your IP address, browser user agent, the URL requested and a timestamp. Those logs relate to pages and assets only: they never contain the JSON or XML you process, because that content is not sent in any request.

If you email us

If you contact us at the address on the contact page, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. That information is used only to reply to you and to investigate the issue you reported, and it is not added to any mailing list or shared with third parties.

Children

This site is a developer utility and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Because the tools do not collect or transmit your documents, there is no personal data about your usage for us to export or delete. If you have emailed us and would like that correspondence deleted, ask and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page will be updated. Material changes — for example, introducing any form of analytics — would be described here before they take effect.
